Overview
The Multi-Token Settlement layer is a core component of 402Gate, designed to enable flexible, interoperable, and cost-efficient micropayments across multiple Solana-based tokens.
This system allows both users and service providers to choose the asset that best fits their needs whether stability (USDC), liquidity (SOL), or utility .
Instead of enforcing a single-token ecosystem, 402Gate introduces a token-agnostic payment architecture, ensuring long-term scalability, adoption, and resilience within the Solana network and beyond.
When a pay-per-use transaction occurs, the DApp’s paywall engine dynamically detects the user’s selected currency, processes the payment, and settles funds directly to the provider’s wallet instantly, with near-zero gas fees.
Core Concept
Traditional paywalls often rely on one centralized currency or a fixed token.
402Gate removes this limitation by adopting a multi-asset settlement framework, where each transaction is resolved in real time using native Solana or any SPL-compliant token.
This approach makes the 402Pay system:
Currency-neutral – no dependency on one token’s volatility.
Developer-friendly – easy integration of new tokens.
Future-proof – compatible with upcoming Solana token standards or bridged assets.
By supporting, USDC, and SOL, 402Gate bridges stability, liquidity, and ecosystem utility within one seamless settlement pipeline.
Core Capabilities
Flexible Currency Selection
Users can select their preferred payment token directly from the DApp interface before executing a transaction.
Merchants can specify accepted tokens per endpoint, enabling hybrid monetization models such as:
Stable pricing in USDC for predictable revenue.
Reward-based pricing in $X402 for ecosystem loyalty.
Native pricing in SOL for deep liquidity and lower costs.
Instant On-Chain Settlement
Every micropayment is processed through Solana’s high-throughput network, finalizing in approximately 1–2 seconds.
Funds are transferred directly to the provider’s wallet, fully verifiable and immutable on-chain with an average cost of <$0.001 per transaction.
This ensures 402Gate can support thousands of automated payments per minute without bottlenecks.
Token-Agnostic Smart Routing
The protocol intelligently routes each transaction to the appropriate SPL mint and wallet address.
This routing layer identifies the mint type (SOL, USDC, or $X402), computes the correct amount with decimals precision, and ensures recipient accounts exist before broadcasting the transaction minimizing failed or stuck payments.
Advanced Features
Dynamic Token Conversion Engine
402Gate integrates a conversion layer that allows service providers to receive their preferred token even if users pay with another.
For example, a user paying in SOL can be automatically converted to USDC or $X402 using Solana’s on-chain DEX liquidity (via Raydium or Jupiter).
Key benefits:
Automatic FX-like settlement.
Consistent merchant revenue value.
Zero manual swaps or off-chain conversion.
Discount Logic for $X402 Utility Token
To drive ecosystem adoption, transactions made in $X402 automatically receive a protocol-level discount (for example, 10–15%).
This encourages users to hold and use the native token, while rewarding loyalty and reducing effective payment costs.
Merchant advantages:
Lower service fees for $X402 payments.
Higher token circulation within the network.
Stronger utility alignment across all 402Gate modules.
Multi-Token Accounting & Analytics Dashboard
All settlement data including token type, price equivalence, and network fees is stored in 402Gate’s on-chain analytics layer.
The dashboard visualizes:
Revenue distribution by token.
Conversion ratios (SOL→USDC, USDC→402G).
Average fee cost per mint.
Volume and frequency of cross-token payments.
This enables both users and providers to track economic performance across all supported tokens transparently.
